Books Read:

  • “Splendor” by Anna Godbersen.

  • “Stacey’s Book” by Ann M. Martin. (Re-read — no review)
  • “From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler” by E.L. Konigsburg.

Okay, so you can already see that it was a very, very quiet month for reading, but that’s NaNoWriMo’s fault. Haha.

Still managed to post a couple of “Where I Read” features (1, 2), some reviews (1, 2, 3, 4), and did my weekly In My Mailbox posts (1, 2, 3, 4).

Two very special events — Mandy from Edge of Seventeen and I had a book review and discussion of the first Sweet Valley High book, Double Love (1) and wrote a post for My Friend Amy‘s Babysitters Club Week (1).

I’ll be back to normal posting in December until I’m sure the holidays will take me away from the Internet for a few days.

Posted about some library work (1, 2), caught up on almost all my July reviews (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7), posted five In My Mailbox posts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), compiled/re-commented on some classic reviews (1, 2, 3), and some miscellaneous posting (1, 2, 3).

Whew. I’m going to try and be MUCH better about getting a review out every day until I’m caught up with my reviews. I go back and forth about whether or not to hold reviews until their release date (I did that this month), or to just post them right away. I’ll probably continue to debate that.

Up next on the blog: BBAW, and a feature about where I do my reading.

  • “Strange Angels” by Lili St. Crow. Review

Once again, I’m two steps ahead in reading and about nine reviews back. I suspect that will continue for a long, long time.

Posted about my experiences at ALA in three posts (1, 2, 3), caught up on all my June reviews (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9), and posted a few miscellaneous book-related posts (1, 2, 3).

It’s been a busy month. I can’t believe all that’s happened. It seriously feels like ALA was months and months ago. I’m so grateful for all the people I met there, all the authors that took time out of their busy schedules to visit, the opportunities to work with other librarians…and the books. (Oh, yeah, it had to be said.)

Upcoming on the blog — we have BBAW coming up, and I definitely am planning on being very active in that. Other than that, I think it’s business as usual.

I’ve also started working on a super secret project that is taking up a lot of my time and I hope to be able to reveal it within the next few weeks. I really love this project and hope that it will become a valuable resource for the teens at my library.

As for the blog, I’ve participated in the 48 Hour Book Challenge and Bloggiesta. I have to say that I think this month was pretty productive and a great launch to the blog.

Next month: ALA!
